“Le Lac” is a dream landscape where the liquid turns into dust. Sahel Oasis, Lake Chad is not the same. The fact that 90% of the water is lost makes one feel exhausted, fearful and insecure. Climate change has left millions of people vulnerable to the threat of the Boko Haram. In this immersive documentary, we witness the lives, hopes and struggles of the once-rich nomad shepherd Mahamat and Nassuri who has taken on fishing after becoming a refugee in the middle of the lake’s miserable state. The hope of the couple for their struggles for life is our hope.
